The question is: Who will hold that power, for what purposes, with what accountability, and to whose benefit?
These aren't questions for technologists alone. They're questions for all of us—because AI's impacts will touch everyone. The choices we make now, collectively, will shape whether AI enhances human flourishing or exacerbates injustice and inequality.
Excellence in AI isn't just technical capability. It's ensuring capability serves humanity ethically, equitably, and wisely. That requires more than algorithms—it requires values, judgment, restraint, and courage to prioritize doing right over doing what's possible.
