Formerly known as the Kingdom Tower, the newest building set to take the title as world’s tallest building is the Jeddah Tower. As Radwan Mah from Great News Magazine talked about, Saudi Arabia is looking to complete this lavish and large skyscraper which is set to be exactly one kilometer tall. With modern day construction capabilities, skyscrapers that are being built today are only getting taller and taller. If the Jeddah Tower takes the top prize at one kilometer tall, where do the other tallest towers stand in the world?
Currently, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa tower is the tallest standing building in the world. It measures in a 827 meters tall and has been standing now for the last twelve years. They have around 160 floors and it is top to bottom luxury. You can check out the observation decks at the top of the building or visit each of the event rooms and check out just where luxury comes to live.
The Shanghai Tower comes in just under the Burj Khalifa at 632 meters tall. It holds the title of being the tallest building in China, though it has still not been opened to the public yet. There is not yet been any businesses to take any spaces in the building yet, but it will hopefully be open soon. The cylindrical building has 121 floors, with featured gardens, cafes, and more. The public is eagerly waiting just when they will be able to see the inside of the glorious glass building.
The recently build One World Trade Center building in New York almost makes the list of the tallest buildings in the world. It stands at 541.3 meters tall and is actually the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. Taking the place of the former World Trade Center Towers, and standing as a memorial to those who died on September 11th, 2001, it stands proudly as one of the tallest buildings in the world. It holds mainly business offices and some observation decks. It was recently opened to the public just a year ago.
While all of these buildings are able to claim to be among the tallest in the world, in due time, they could all be knocked down one level. Like Radwan Mah mentioned in his article, Saudi Arabia is set to take the trophy of world’s tallest tower when they finally complete the construction on the Jeddah Tower. Though it will still be around four more years, the world will be waiting to see just what the finished project looks like, and how lavish it plans to be.
